Hotels Update February 2010

If any of you are having hotel problems or are hearing about hotel problems Please send me an email or give me a call.  Remember I can't do anything if I don't know what is going on.  From now on I will be sending a blast out every month regarding hotels issues and resolutions.  

Some issues with hotel that I have worked on or still working  on are:

LAS-  I have spoken with Curt about the shuttle issues and he has assured me that the shuttle service is now fixed and should be running when we need to be at the airport.  He advised me that the hotel now has a copy of the flight numbers and arrival times of all the crews RON and outbound flight times of all crews that need to go to the airport.  If you are still having to leave early Please send me an email ASAP!  This is not acceptable and I explained this to Curt.  We shouldn't have to leave an hour to 2 hours early prior to our showtime.  This cuts into our rest.  I told Curt if this continues will have to find another hotel in Vegas.   He assured me that if it does we would switch hotels however the pickings are slim right now.

ELP- The hotel is now charging for the usage of their computer as well as printer.  I have received your emails about this and have forwarded the emails over to Curt. He hasn't responded to me yet.  But be assured I will continue to send him emails daily about the hotels that want to charge us for the usage of computers to see if this can be solved.

BUR-some of you emailed me and Curt about the shuttle in the morning for the 8:55am showtime.  The shuttle will only take you at 8am not 8:30.  This is the hotel policy, not ours, and they won't change it.  We do apologize but that is out of our control.  I asked Curt about another hotel and right now its not possible due to the financial issue here at Mesa.  Otherwise the hotel is nice and the people are friendly they will take other places with a 3 mile radius from the hotel.  I just had an overnight there.

SNA/FAT- these hotels are across from the airport and they do provide a shuttle.  If you choose to walk that is your choice.  We highly suggest that you do take the shuttle for your safety.  Just because your other crew members walk doesn't mean you have to.  I have received several emails about these two hotels with flight attendants thinking there is no shuttle since most crew members just walk.  But there is a shuttle available for you.  Just call to arrange that.

It was brought to my attention that some of our hotels have reported that our crews members are rude at times to staff.  Just a reminder that we are still on duty and in uniform and we should act professionally at all times.  I know things may not go right and we are tired but if you have an immediate emergency or situation please contact the Hotel Desk and let them handle the issue.  Don't try to take things into your own hands.

Again,  If there are any problems with a hotel please send me a email, text me, or call me and I will forward it over to Curt.  I also make it a point to go to Curt's office and sit with him to discuss these issues and resolutions frequently.  We keep in close contact with each other and he is willing to help out with any request within reason.  Remember if you don't speak up I don't know if there is a problem.  I have provided you with my email address as well as phone number at the bottom of this email.  Fly Safe!
