June Hotels Update
Hello Everyone,
I hope the begining of your summer is going well and you're trying to keep cool. I am sending this blast out to inform you of some new changes going on in the hotel area. First I would like to introduce to you one of your new LEC's on the East Coast she is been with Mesa for 2yrs now and active flight attendant based in ORD, Kristen Smith. She can be reached through email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it she is a great addition and I am happy to work with her. She is very eager to help you out when it comes to hotel stays and problems. You can email her as well and she will pass the information over to me and together we work as a team to help you, our flight attendants.
Now to get to some new changes on hotels and to answer some of the questions that have been emailed to me.
CVG Hotel- This hotel has been changed to Quaility Inn Hotel. Thanks to April and the help of some CLT F/A's. With the emails they sent me about our old hotel, I had us out in four days. If you have stayed at the new hotel please send me feedback on the Quaility Inn.
ABQ Hotel- I heard the shuttle didn't provide us service to any resturants or area attractions. Well thanks to the emails I received we will now be provided transportation to area resturants and a mall within a 3 mile radius for your enjoyment - just give the shuttle driver a heads up. And remember the shuttle is on a first come, first serve basis so plan accordling.
ELP Hotel- I have received several calls about the safety of our crews at this hotel with all the recent events taking place around that area. Although no real compliants about the hotel itself - just the location. I had a long meeting with Curt, and we have decided to keep the crews there for now. Curt has spoken with the General Manager at this hotel and he has assured us the hotel is safe and secure for our crews. They haven't had any problems around the hotel at all. However, we are looking into othe options as a back up. I sent out a blast a few months ago about using common sense and good judgement on your overnights. Well although nobody should be walking by there self at anytime after dark, please be aware of your surrounding and again PLEASE use Common Sense and Good Judgement.
SDF Hotel-had a complaint about roaches in the rooms. Curt has spoken with them and they had an Eco Lab come out and spray the room. The hotel manger apologized and said there shouldn't be anymore problems with these critters. Again, that was the onlycomplaint about this hotel that I recevied.
CLT Hotel- Many already know that we where moved to, the Best Western Hotel, is down the street from the old hotel. I think it's a better location and is safer but again, use good judgement. I haven't heard any feed back from this hotel so if you've stayed there, send me an email and let me know how the hotel was.
SBP Hotel- I received a couple of emails and calls about Clocks not in the rooms. There have to be working clocks in all of our hotel rooms. Curt spoke to the manager and he assured us that they will make sure there are clocks in all rooms. I know sometimes crew members will unplug them or put the clocks in different locations, please make sure your put the clock back where you find it. We tend to stay in the same rooms - this is just being respectful to other crews.
Beg Bugs - here is an issue that we commonly hear about. When it comes to beg bugs in rooms we need to make sure that we follow the proper procedures. Please contact your Supervisor or Base Admin with 24hrs. There has to be proper paperwork filled out so that the company can send you to a doctor to get it looked at. Its is important that you contact your Supervisor because this going under OJI, but it has to be reported within 24hrs. I also sent out a blast in Feb about bed bugs and putting your luggage on the bed. If you do have bed bugs they can attach to luggage and clothing so please don't place your luggage or clothes on the bed, and use the luggage rack or hang your clothes in the closet.
I would also like to point out an issue that has come across to me. When you have a problem with a hotel issue it's always good to inform the company immediatly, however, please also inform me of the issue. I have received a lot of flight attendant feed back who have had the same problem at the same hotel and have emailed the hotel desk time and time again and things had not been done about the issue or the flight attendant was never contacted by the company. If you email the company, great, but I don't know that you did because I don't get those emails from the company. When you email the company and myself then I can follow up on your issue and get back to you on the resolution. So please email the company first then email me or Kristen and inform us about the issues again.
Here our the emails of your Hotel Committee. Detailed emails are always better so I have something to provide to the company. The more details I have the better case we have to present to the company about our problems.:
