Status of Contract Implementation

I know that there are a lot of questions about when the contract will be implemented. We want to let you know that the union has done everything in their power to make sure that it is implemented as quickly as possible.

We all know that the pilots have FLICA and we should have been able to easily implement that. However, due to the fact that we are under FA regulations, we have to load different "rules" into the FLICA system.  The MEC met with the company last week to go over the different "rules/regulations" that will need to be implemented into the FLICA system. This step has been completed; however, there is currently a programming bug that is preventing the open time from being transmitted from Sabre to FLICA.  We should have an update sometime today on the progress; the IT folks at both companies are working to determine the cause.  Without that communication link, the FLICA system does not work.  We are pushing them very hard to get this corrected ASAP.

The MEC will be sitting down again with the company next week to finalize everything and get our contract to the printers. We also hope that by the 24th of March we will be seeing the pass bureau sending an email to enroll our domestic partners/designated travel companions. We know that there are a lot of changes in the new contract.

If you are confused at any point or need clarification we urge you to contact your local leaders.

Hopefully this clears up a lot of questions for you and finds you safe.

In Solidarity,

Your Master Executive Council Leadership
